Description
These handcrafted pair of keum boo 24k gold foil, sterling and Argentium® silver earrings are designed and made completely from scratch. I use Argentium® silver (940), a higher grade of silver than sterling silver (925) to permanently fuse (keum boo) the 24k gold foil onto it . The texturing is achieved by passing the sterling silver sheet through the patterned roller of the rolling mill. The two pieces are then soldered together and sterling silver earring posts soldered on. The earrings come complete with sterling silver butterfly backs and presented in a gift box, to give as a thoughtful gift or to treat yourself!
Each earring measures approx 10mm x 8mm.
Fusing is a technique when the materials to be joined together are heated to a temperature so they become one permanent item.
Argentium® silver is known to be more tarnish resistant
All of my jewellery is hand designed and created by myself within my workroom, on the edge of Dartmoor. During the forming process there can be evidence of workmanship and no two items are identical. These are not faults but make each piece unique unlike anything mass produced.
