Silver Filigree handcrafted Pendant ‘Affinity’ Sterling and Fine Silver

‘Affinity’ is a lovely sterling and fine silver filigree pendant with a beautiful complementary twisted curb chain (sterling silver), available in 16 or 18 inch length.
The pendant is predominantly made of fine silver filigree wires shaped to fit the outside sterling silver frame. The silver wires have a connection and bond when twisted together to become one wire, hence the name. The silver granulation balls give strength to the piece. Approx size is 2.2cm x 1.2cm (not including the bail and jump ring measurement).
Your pendant will come gift boxed with an anti tarnish strip and small piece of polishing cloth.

All my filigree pieces are made completely from scratch from 100% recycled silver bought from reputable UK suppliers. Silver wire is twisted together and annealed a few times before being rolled out to form the recognisable shape of filigree strands. I then create a variety of shapes which are soldered inside the silver shaped frame. Sometimes silver granulated balls are added for detail and to also secure and strengthen the piece. I don’t always have the end design in my head when I start but try different shapes within the frame for inspiration, to see how they look first. The silver granulated balls are created by heating small pieces of fine silver until they melt and ‘ball up’. It can be like creating and fitting pieces of a puzzle together. A bail and jump ring are soldered in place and then the piece is burnished and polished by hand.
