KEUM BOO
philosophy
I create handcrafted, beautiful, and unique keepsake jewellery designed to be cherished—whether worn every day or reserved for special occasions.
My inspiration is drawn from the textures and forms found in nature, which I bring to life using a variety of traditional and contemporary techniques. These include Mitsuro Hikime (Japanese wax) where the wax models I have created are then cast usually in silver, Keum-Boo (fusing 24k gold foil onto silver), fusing, filigree, and the use of handmade silver granules within my designs.
Sustainability is important to me, not only to reduce waste but to create more affordable pieces. Wherever possible I recycle my own scrap silver, often remelting it and reworking it into silver wire, sheet and granulation. I source recycled sterling and Argentium silver, 24k gold foil, and occasionally gold—all purchased within the UK.
